Alumni & Friends of Geography
The Friends of Geography (FOG) is an organization of geographers and friends dedicated to
furthering the discipline of Geography at UCLA. Besides helping to sponsor various events in the
Department, FOG sponsors lectures by past and present geographers in various areas of expertise.
FOG also offers annual scholarships awards of between $500 and $3000 to entering freshman and
transfer students. In addition, FOG publishes a newsletter, The FOGhorn, which
serves to maintain connections between alumni, emeriti, faculty, students and staff.
